TeleNav Cures Swedish Medical Center’s Addiction to Traditional Maps and Printed Driving Directions
TeleNav Track™ mobile workforce management solution eliminates online directions and allows professionals to spend more time with patients

Sunnyvale, CA and Seattle, WA – April 24, 2007 – TeleNav, Inc. today announced that Seattle-based Swedish Medical Center’s Home Care Division has deployed TeleNav Track to increase quality, productivity and safety of its mobile workforce by cutting down on time spent printing maps and driving between home visits. Swedish Medical Center is the largest not-for-profit provider of health care services to patients in Seattle’s residential areas. Before deploying TeleNav Track, dispatchers in the office would call field workers on cell phones, send pages or even text messages during appointments to notify staff of schedule changes. These constant interruptions would take away from caregivers’ time spent with patients. The mobile workforce would often drive back to the headquarters to print Internet-based driving directions to new locations. The management team was also concerned that drivers were distracted reading maps while en route to the next location, increasing the potential safety and liability risks the organization faced. “With appointments changing constantly, we needed a cost-effective solution to boost our results in the field and better use our employees’ in-home care efforts,” said Debby Ramundo, senior project manager at Swedish Medical Center’s Home Care Division. “Thanks to TeleNav Track, we have provided our clinicians with an effective tool that allows them to spend more time with patients and less time searching for directions.” After evaluating a variety of solutions, the Swedish Medical Center selected TeleNav Track to provide location-based services and tracking capabilities for its Home Care Division. The mobile team now responds to requests in a timely manner and spends more time caring for patients. TeleNav Track’s GPS navigation feature guides professionals to destinations with voice-activated, turn-by-turn directions on mobile phones, allowing employees to concentrate on the road without multitasking between reading printed directions and driving. Swedish Medical Center uses TeleNav Track on approximately 200 Nextel phones from Sprint. Sprint and TeleNav worked together to develop and provide a wireless solution that would meet the specific organizational needs of Swedish Medical Center. “The availability of TeleNav on both the Sprint and Nextel networks shows that we continue to stand by our mission of providing choice and flexibility to all of our customers,” said Kirk Dawson, area vice president, Pacific Northwest for Sprint. “We have provided TeleNav’s location-based services to organizations and consumers in Western Washington since 2003 and are proud to offer wireless data solutions that are both relevant and effective.” “Companies with employees constantly on the go need a product to help minimize time spent on manually printing directions and keeping track of fleets,” said Dr. HP Jin, president, CEO and co-founder of TeleNav. “Because TeleNav specializes in deploying solutions that provide real-time employee location information and navigation, organizations such as Swedish Medical Center can concentrate on providing high quality service to their customers, increasing productivity, and ensuring employee safety on the road.” For further information about TeleNav Track and carrier availability, please visit
