Sunnyvale, California — April 29, 2014 — Thinknear by Telenav (NASDAQ: TNAV), a leader in location-based mobile advertising, was today awarded top honors in the Location Search Association's (LSA) inaugural Ad to Action Awards, a program dedicated to highlighting the most effective and creative technologies in the location advertising space. Thinknear was named a finalist in the mobile category, for its GeoCookie technology, earlier this month.
Rather than simply identifying where a device is, Thinknear's GeoCookie focuses on location and categorization, enabling both mobile retargeting based on where the device has been in the past, as well as behavioral targeting based on location and movement patterns. For example, advertisers could use the GeoCookie to identify where a device is (in an airport) and how often it has been there, or similar locations in the recent past, to determine whether a consumer is a frequent business traveler. GeoCookie permits location-specific targeting to a very high degree of accuracy and allows for granular segmentation not possible on other platforms.
