Downloading and Installing TeleNav GPS Navigator
TeleNav can be downloaded directly onto your BlackBerry using the Internet Browser that is installed on your BlackBerry.
NOTE: This approach may take 2-5 minutes depending your being in 1xRT or EvDO coverage.
- Launch the BlackBerry browser
- Input the OTA download link: http://ota.telenav.com/ota/btvz
After the download process has completed successfully, locate the TeleNav application icon on the handset menu.

- Locate the Web icon on the handset menu and launch the browser
- Input the OTA download link: http://ota.telenav.com/ota/vz and click GO
- A warning message will be displayed. Press YES to begin the download. The download process will begin immediately.
Launching the Application
NOTE: always make sure that your TeleNav Bluetooth GPS receiver is turned on before you launch the application.
To launch TeleNav on your Palm Treo, find the TeleNav icon on the main menu and select it.
First-time Bluetooth GPS Configuration
GPS location information is provided by the TeleNav Bluetooth GPS receiver and is required for all GPS-related functionality.
Your TeleNav Bluetooth GPS receiver should already be turned on.
Make certain that your TeleNav Bluetooth GPS receiver is powered ON at this point during the setup. Press Yes to configure the settings. A scan of all nearby devices will be completed and a list will be displayed. Highlight the TeleNav GPS option and press OK to continue.

- After the download, follow the on-screen instructions to install
Pairing a Bluetooth GPS Receiver
Refer to the user manual for your device supplied by Verizon or your device manufacturer for specific instructions on how to pair a Bluetooth peripheral.
When prompted for the password for the TeleNav Bluetooth GPS receiver is, input "0000".
Launching the Application
Make sure that your device's Bluetooth is enabled and that your Bluetooth GPS receiver is turned on and paired with your device.
- Open your phone's applications menu and select the TeleNav GPS Navigator icon
- The application will launch - when prompted, always allow any requested network or Bluetooth connections
The first time you launch TeleNav GPS Navigator, you will be asked to input the phone number and your 4-digit PIN. Allow 2-5 minutes for the application to download audio and other files for the first time.

TeleNav can be downloaded directly onto your BlackBerry using the Internet Browser that is installed on your BlackBerry.

- Launch the BlackBerry browser, and click the trackwheel to expose the menus. Select “Go to…”
- Input the OTA download link: http://ota.telenav.com/ota/vz
For BlackBerry 8830 input the OTA download link: http://ota.telenav.com/ota/btvz
Click the trackwheel again and select OK
After the download process has completed successfully, locate the TeleNav application icon on the handset menu.
Pairing a Bluetooth GPS Receiver
- Turn your TeleNav Bluetooth GPS receiver on
- On the main BlackBerry menu screen, scroll to Options (the icon is a wrench) and click the trackwheel
- Scroll to Bluetooth on the next Menu list and click the trackwheel to expose a list of paired devices. If your receiver is already paired, you can back out from this point.
- Click the trackwheel and Enable Bluetooth if it is not already enabled
- Click the trackwheel again and select Add Device. The BlackBerry will spend a few seconds looking for Bluetooth devices that are within 30 feet.
- Highlight the GPS receiver in the list of devices shown, and click the trackwheel. The BlackBerry will negotiate with the GPS receiver, and then ask for the device pass code. This is usually a four digit number, often “0000” (zeros). The pass code for a TeleNav Bluetooth GPS receiver is “0000”.
Launching the Application
If you are using an icon theme, to launch TeleNav on your handheld:
- Highlight the TeleNav “turn ahead” icon on the BlackBerry's scree
- Click the trackwheel
If you are using a list theme:
- Scroll down to Applications and click the trackwheel
- In the Applications menu, scroll down to “TeleNav 4” and click the trackwheel
After starting TeleNav, the banner screen will appear for a few seconds.
When prompted, grant access to the network and complete first-time login by inputting your phone number and 4-digit Password. The application will then download audio and other files. This process may take 2–5 minutes.
Configuring TeleNav GPS Navigator to use a Bluetooth GPS Receiver
You must do this before TeleNav will recognize a Bluetooth GPS receiver.
- Select the TeleNav Preferences option, and open the Preferences menu
- Scroll down to “GPS source:”, and click the trackwheel
- Change the selection to Bluetooth, and then “Save” the settings
- Press the ESCape key to return to the TeleNav main menu, and then press the ESCape key to exit TeleNav
When you restart TeleNav, it will be configured to use the Bluetooth GPS receiver.
