Santa Clara, California, August 18th, 2022 — Telenav, a leading provider of connected in-vehicle navigation and infotainment solutions, today announced that Chery has selected Telenav to provide a navigation APK, guidance capabilities, and a suite of in-vehicle content services for export programs targeting the Middle East and Europe. Under the collaboration, Telenav will integrate Anghami, myTuner Radio, NABD News, and Zoom meeting access into Chery's in-vehicle systems.
The program marks a major expansion of Telenav's content services business. Where previous in-car integrations centered on single music services, Telenav is (for the first time), designing and developing integrations for multiple content services on one in-vehicle platform: regional audio, radio and news, and online meetings, all fully licensed and delivered to a high standard within a single project.
"Drivers in the Middle East and Europe don't want a generic cockpit — they want their music, their radio, their news, in their language. With Chery, we have built exactly that: a genuinely regional digital experience, anchored by world-class navigation. It is a new model for what in-vehicle content can be," said Hassan Wahla, President & Chief Customer Officer, Automotive, at Telenav.
"Integrating four distinct content services on one platform — each with its own licensing, design language, and technical requirements — is a serious engineering achievement. Add navigation extended to the front passenger display, and the Chery program shows just how far we can push the connected cockpit," said Manfred Fu, General Manager, Automotive, at Telenav.
On the navigation side, Telenav's APK provides localized route planning, search, and turn-by-turn guidance for daily commuting and intercity travel across Middle Eastern and European markets. The solution also extends to the front passenger display, where passengers can search for addresses mid-journey and send destinations to the main center display for routing — turning navigation into a shared, cooperative experience for front-seat occupants.
For Chery, the "navigation + multi-content" combination builds a digital cockpit that truly resonates with users in each region: navigation covers core mobility needs, while diverse content services match local preferences for music, radio, news, and remote communication. As the program progresses, the partners will refine integrations and content configurations based on service performance and user feedback — continuously enriching the in-vehicle ecosystem of Chery's overseas models.
