Santa Clara, California, March 21st, 2024 — Telenav, a leading provider of navigation and intelligent connected vehicle software, today announced that BYD has adopted Telenav's dedicated commercial vehicle navigation solution on its 6125 commercial vehicle platform, supporting overseas truck and commercial vehicle programs across Europe, Australia and New Zealand, Southeast Asia, the Middle East and Africa, South America, and South Asia.
Telenav's commercial navigation serves as a core component of the platform, planning routes based on vehicle attributes and local road regulations for every category of BYD's overseas commercial vehicles. The solution draws on commercial vehicle map data and truck restriction information from HERE, applied to the road networks and regulatory frameworks of each target market.

Operators can configure vehicle physical attributes (length, width, height, axle count), clearance requirements (bridge heights, road widths, grade constraints), and load-type restrictions directly in the navigation system. Combined with local rules on commercial vehicle access and road usage, the system generates routes that reflect genuine operational needs — automatically avoiding infrastructure unsuitable for the vehicle and favoring fully compliant routes.
Delivery will proceed in phases aligned with BYD's commercial vehicle roadmap: an initial phase focused on light commercial vehicles for urban delivery and regional transport, followed by expansion into heavy truck (tractor-trailer) models with route planning tuned for long-haul, truck logistics, and cross-region transport.
With unified navigation interfaces and configuration on the 6125 commercial platform, BYD can reuse one commercial navigation foundation across multiple vehicle types and projects, adjusting parameters by category and operating scenario. Telenav will keep enriching the application of commercial vehicle rules with road and policy information from each market — supporting BYD's build-out of smart cockpit and route planning capabilities for commercial vehicles worldwide.
