Santa Clara, California, July 16th, 2025 — Telenav, a leading provider of connected in-vehicle infotainment solutions, today announced that Dongfeng Group has selected Telenav's embedded Spotify in-car music solution for multiple overseas vehicle programs. The rollout begins with Dongfeng Nano models for a broad user base, then expands to Dongfeng Voyah, the group's mid-to-high-end new energy brand, and Dongfeng Mengshi, its off-road and performance marque — establishing a unified in-car music foundation across overseas markets including Europe and Southeast Asia.
The project builds on the embedded Spotify model Telenav pioneered with ROX: under its distribution authorization agreement with Spotify for in-car music software, Telenav now provides Spotify integration directly to Dongfeng Group. Dongfeng has adopted this combined licensing-and-technology offering to unify embedded Spotify capabilities across multiple brands, with Telenav responsible for application design, engineering, and integration across different head-unit platforms.
"A group-level commitment across three brands as distinct as Nano, Voyah, and Mengshi is a powerful vote of confidence in our Spotify distribution model. Dongfeng gets one mature, consistent music foundation for every audience it serves — from family drivers to off-road enthusiasts — with a single trusted partner," said Hassan Wahla, President & Chief Customer Officer, Automotive, at Telenav.
"Delivering one experience across three brands, multiple head-unit platforms, and very different user segments is where our engineering depth pays off. Each brand keeps its own display design and interaction character, while the underlying Spotify capability stays rock-solid and consistent group-wide," said Manfred Fu, General Manager, Automotive, at Telenav.
The rollout proceeds in deliberate phases: first on Dongfeng Nano, bringing native Spotify access to vehicles aimed at younger and family users and validating the experience at broad scale; then extending to Voyah and Mengshi — from intelligent, comfort-focused new energy vehicles to performance- and off-road-oriented models — with the same mature in-car music service base throughout.
Purpose-built for the vehicle, Telenav's embedded solution adapts its UI to each brand's head-unit display size and layout, supports playback controls via physical buttons and on-screen elements, and integrates with vehicle voice capabilities for hands-free music search and playback. Now-playing information can appear on the instrument cluster or other displays per each vehicle's overall design — keeping drivers informed and focused.
For Dongfeng Group, group-level embedded Spotify delivers a unified, mature digital entertainment foundation across brands, beyond navigation and core cockpit functions. Drivers of Nano, Voyah, and Mengshi vehicles get direct in-cabin access to a globally popular music platform for city commutes, long hauls, and off-road journeys alike. As the project advances, Dongfeng and Telenav will keep optimizing the experience based on market usage and user feedback — further elevating the digital sophistication of Dongfeng's overseas cockpits.
